Staff development network
A slightly different reading this week. I was fortunate to be invited onto an episode of the largest teaching podcast in the world, the Mr Barton Maths podcast.
In this episode, Craig Barton, Ollie Lovell and I discuss classroom management.
It’s a useful listen for anyone who would like a deep dive into improving classroom engagement.
Key points
- Treat behaviour as a curriculum and master your own behaviour to influence others.
- Behaviour management skills can be taught to teachers through explicit instruction and rehearsal.
- Schools need to create systems to support the improvement of behaviour.

Happy coaching.
Kind regards
Mark
