Associate Head of the Crowther Centre – Positive Masculinity

Ingrid Howren is a leading Australian educator in the field of positive masculinity, specialising in the design and delivery of evidence-informed curriculum for boys and young men. With over 20 years’ experience leading Health, Wellbeing and Physical Education teams across junior and senior schools, she brings deep expertise in leadership, curriculum development and student wellbeing.

Ingrid holds a dual role as Associate Head of the Crowther Centre for Positive Masculinity and works closely with the Foundation for Positive Masculinity. Her work is driven by a strong commitment to supporting healthier, more inclusive expressions of masculinity and helping schools create environments where all young people can thrive. She partners with educators, students and parents across Australia to implement the +M Framework—a strengths-based approach that addresses gender-specific challenges while supporting cognitive, social and emotional development.

A certified Cognitive Coach, Ingrid works alongside school leaders and educators through coaching and professional learning, building leadership capacity, strengthening relational practice and enhancing engagement among boys. Her work focuses on creating practical, sustainable change in schools.
